Seoul vibes at Seoul Sky ✨
Seoul Sky: A Family Afternoon Above the Clouds The elevator was so fast that all three of us felt our ears pop. From the 1st floor to the 118th floor in just 60 seconds. My wife said, "I think this is faster than a plane taking off." The Challenge of the Glass Floor As soon as we arrived at the observatory, we noticed the transparent glass floor. Through it, we could see Seoul 500 meters below. "Are we actually going to step on that?" I asked hesitantly. "I'll try it first," my daughter and wife bravely volunteered. Cars looked like ants, buildings like Lego blocks far below. It was scary but incredibly thrilling at the same time. Eventually, all three of us stepped on it and took photos. There was something strangely addictive about it—terrifying yet impossible to look away from. Tip: There are several glass floor sections, so find a less crowded spot. Taking photos without other people's feet in the frame is trickier than you'd think! Enjoying at Our Own Pace The best thing about Seoul Sky was not feeling rushed. I sipped coffee while admiring the Han River view, my wife enjoyed ice cream while spotting Namsan Tower, and our daughter was busy video-calling her friends to show off in real-time. There's a café selling simple snacks and drinks, so we could relax comfortably while enjoying the scenery. There was absolutely no need to hurry down. Recommendation: Visit around sunset to see both daytime views and night scenery. We went up around 4 PM and the timing was perfect. Sky Bridge for Next Time "Should we try going outside?" I pointed at the Sky Bridge sign. For an additional fee, you can experience the Sky Bridge, an outdoor observation deck. It seemed perfect for adventurous types, but we decided the indoor observatory was enough for today. "Let's do it next time we come," my daughter suggested. The Perfect One-Stop Experience Coming down, we found ourselves directly connected to Lotte World and the department store. "Should we have dinner and do some shopping?" "I think we should dedicate a whole day for Lotte World next time." My daughter was right. Seoul Sky alone made for a fulfilling afternoon. But being able to enjoy an amusement park, observatory, and shopping all in one location is definitely a huge advantage. A Place Worth Returning To On the drive home, my daughter said, "Next time, let's come in the evening to see the night view. I bet it's even more beautiful." I agreed. Seoul Sky is the kind of place where one visit isn't enough. An afternoon looking down at Seoul from its highest point with my family. I think this will stay in our memories for a long time.
